The main feature of the design is the improved exterior appearance of the hall that hosts major international events like the Swiss Indoors with up to 10'000 attendees. The once prominent structure disappears behind added wraparound hallways and no longer conveys its own identity. To restage the arena the design suggests the addition of cladding in a specifically developed gold anodized skin, like a figurative crown. Large scaled openings behind the cladding help to locate the interior spaces in the urban environment and offer well defined views of the imposing surroundings.
